Time – summum in parvo in The Iliad

Summary/Abstract: The studies centered upon the ancient epic have so far discussed the issue of time. The difficulty of any other innovative study in this matter is more than obvious because the efforts of the prior researchers and of the critics have enlightened so far so many different aspects of this theme. Our paper intends to present and to summarize these opinions especially in The Iliad, qualified as a masterpiece in its resemblance to an Athenian tragedy as Aristotle pointed out. Our attempt is going to underline that the text of the Iliad goes beyond the historical time, being an excellent example of tempus summum in parvo in the Greek epic.
