Summary/Abstract: This paper presents comparison of relative exam passing rates of substantially identical courses Evolution (Ante - Bologna system of education) and Basics of Organic Evolution (Bologna principles compliant teaching). By the method of comparing, the period from 2005/2006 to 2010/2011 is covered. Based on the exact exam passing parameters, in three generations of ane Bologna and three Bologna system generations, this paper provides guidelines for improving and objectivisation of students' knowledge evaluation methods, who are studying according to the Bologna process. The process of knowledge evaluation in the Ante - Bologna system significantly differs from the Bologna principles of evaluation. Ante - Bologna system of knowledge evaluation consists of two parts: a practical examination, which students take in written (with the obligation presenting technical, practical knowledge) and oral examination. On the other hand, following the introduction of Bologna teaching system at the Depeartment of Biology in 2009, the course changed its name into Basics of Organic Evolution (compulsory subject for students of eight semester at the Department of Biology, on the courses: Teaching, Ecology and Biochemistry and Physiology), and knowledge assessment in the final examination was, in the first period, carried out: in written, practically and orally, in order to have this concept abandoned after two generations only by removing the oral part of examination. Comaprisons have shown that the principle of Bologna studying is much more effective for taking this course.
