Summary/Abstract: The article discusses possibilities of applying the theory of political engineering to the process of Soviet industrialization. The main subjects of the Soviet industrial project, its capabilities and the scope of activities are discussed. External and internal preconditions of the Soviet industrial project development are considered. Political executants of the project – interest groups that could influence its process and implementation are identified. The factory community is presented as a single entity of realizers of the Soviet industrial project. The project’s heterogeneity and differentiation are revealed. Collective strategies of the active and passive protests are identified as a way of social resistance. Lenin’s call is seen as a tool of localizing displeased older workers. A conclusion on the beginning of the decisive stage of industrial realization of the Soviet project in the late 1920s is made.
