The spread of the ethnonym šöšqum / šöšqup in the Middle Ob local dialect area

Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the study of the spread of the local ethnonym šöšqum / šöšqup in Narym Priobye, the Ob regionnear Narym. On the basis of the analysis of literature and field data, collected by different researchers of Selkup, thedocumented evidence that the ethnonym was used in some settlements of the Ob region was found. The data about the informants’surnames (the ethnonym carriers’ surnames) are also collected in the article. The author introduces the ethnonymicmaterials of Tomsk anthropologist V. Dryomov, who worked with Ivankino inhabitants in 1965.
