The importance of cluster structures as tools for enhancing the competitiveness and innovation of economy

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the opportunities and barriers to the development of cluster structures in the Polish economy and shows the benefits to the economy arising from the well functioning cluster structures, in particular at regional level. The functioning of cluster structures in the area of environmental protection on the example of the first set in the conditions of Polish economy the Silesian Water Cluster is presented. The activity of this cluster is part of the sustainable development of an industrialized region of Silesia province and encourages the dynamic region development.
