Chosen aspects of stimulating environment friendly buildings market development

Summary/Abstract: In the era of ecology awareness sustainable development plays a key role. The idea of this movement touches every aspect of our livesand the real estate is not different. The main goal of the paper is to evaluate sustainable buildings market in Poland and point out the factors that have an influence on its development. To reach this goal the author uses source materialand empirical data. The paper describes Polish laws and regulations regarding sustainable buildings. European Union policy tries to promote technologies and industries (“green buildings” are one of them), which take into consideration rules of sustainable development. Lately there were established organizations, associations which operate worldwide and their main goal is to increase awareness among societies about “green buildings” (sustainable buildings). Thanks to their actions “green buildings” are easier to locate on the real estate market. In the paper chosen problems of sustainable buildings in Poland are highlighted and described.
