Summary/Abstract: Na marginama knjige „Začeci evropeizacije u književnosti slavenskih muslimana u Bosni i Hercegovini" njemačkoga slaviste Maximiliana Brauna / On the margins of the book “Origins of europeanization in the literature of the Slavic Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina” by German publicist Maximilian Brown /Subtitle of review/ Review of the famous study of Maximilian Braun about “europeanization of Bosniak literature” after the period of the Ottoman Empire. Muhidin Džanko analyzes the content and methodological characteristics of Brown's study, placing it in a broader analytical context of literary-historiographical study of Slavic, primarily Bosniak literature. In this sense, author critically evaluate work of Muhsin Rizvić, devoted to this problem. Review is, in general, important as a source of important bibliographic references in the field of Slavic studies, older and more recent, important for understanding the europeanization of Bosnian traditional literature from the turn of the century, as well as the complex relationship of Occident and Orient (eg. studies of Edward Said and Maria Todorova). Dealing with the scientific appearance of Maximilian Braun and his work, and giving a sort of brief overview of Slavic, literary-historiographical study of elderly Bosnian literature, the author also provides an original, expertly derived, critical, and synthetic interpretation of the mentioned problems.
