Summary/Abstract: This study presents an overview of development of confessional practice. It focuses on the duty of so-called ‘Easter confession’ and traces the origins of fixed forms of evidence relating to the reception of this sacrament. The author summarises extant evidence relating to Easter confessions, which were introduced in order to supervise the progress of re-Catholisation in Bohemia after 1620. Main focus is on the registries from the demesne of Vysoký Chlumec, from which three texts are included in appendix.
