Summary/Abstract: Oneşti Depression is less known nationally and outside the borders from a touristic point of view, although it has a number of natural and man-made sites, most of them locally exploited. Among these we should mention the mineral waters, nature reserves, and especially numerous archaeological, commemorative monuments or religious objectives. Among the developed forms of tourism one can mention the resort and cultural tourism, rather than the other forms. Tourist infrastructure is dominated by the high capacity provided by hotels in towns, which have about half of the accommodation, lately increasing the number of new emerging guest houses or motels. The number of tourists is continuously decreasing, most of them staying in Oneşti, slightly less in Târgu Ocna, in rural areas being preferred the units in Oituz commune. 90% of all the tourists are Romanian and the rest come mainly from European countries, the latter being registered only in urban housing units.
