Summary/Abstract: In this report the main thesis that a leading characteristic of psychosocial identity is the experience of a sense of belonging to the most important group for the subject (the group of the peers, professional community, ethnicity, nation). Through empirical study involving 62 students of I, II and IV course, specialty Psychology in the University of Plovdiv, were measured the ranks weights of 15 different characteristics relating to identity. It establishes a higher subjective importance of the characteristics-roles compared to the characteristics-qualities. However, the high rank position of the characteristic «I am loyal to my friends” we estimate as a confirmation of our initial thesis. Correlated with J. Marshia’s concept of identity statuses, empirical data suggests that among the studied persons dominates the status of «diffusion» and «foreclosed” compared to the status “ moratorium” and “axchieved identity”, which will be empirically studied.
