Summary/Abstract: Matasović is searching for the elements of 'queer' in the so-called artistic music of the West, which is a politically correct term for music that is commonly called 'classical', or 'serious'. Music is, like all the other arts, artificial; with that, it is also unnatural, and therefore queer by itself. However, music is, in its nature, entirely abstract as well, so no exact meanings outside it can be ascribed to it.
