Summary/Abstract: This article proposes to compare two different poetics marking a clear presence in the image of young Polish poetry – i.e. the ones by Tomasz Różycki and Andrzej Sosnowski. Since they are perceived as divergent, an attempt is made at checking their possible affinities, in view of an ‘attitude towards references’ inbuilt in them as a projection, being catalysed in the motif of date. Using to this end Stanley Fish’s model distribution of attitudes assumed against the issue of reference (differentiating between philosophic and semiotic approaches), the author suggests that the easiness of a division as binding with regards to the youngest Polish poetry – i.e. the one identifying artists representing a modernist, or philosophical, attitude to the representation issue (Różycki) vs. those post-modernistically rhetorical (Sosnowski) – cannot be established without some fundamental simplification.
