Summary/Abstract: Playing video games is popular leisure time activity among young people. The goal of our study was to find out video games playing habits relating to amount of time and preferences of video games among Slovak high school students. We were also interested in perceived violence and its correspondence between players of video games and PEGI, the video games rating organization. 104 boys and 113 girls from Prešov and Košice participated in our research. Our data was obtained trough Questionnaire of video games playing. We confirmed gender differences in playing habits. Boys were playing video games more often and were more interested in violent video games than girls. We also confirmed a relative agreement of perceived violence between players and PEGI.
