Summary/Abstract: Review of Włodzimierz Bolecki’s book Ciemna miłość. Szkice do portretu Gustawa Herlinga-Grudzińskiego [‘The Dark Love. Sketches for a portrait of Gustaw Herling-Grudziński’], (Cracow 2005). The review’s author has embarked on a systematic discussion of one of the last books by Mr. Bolecki, an expert on Gustaw Herling-Grudziński’s output and, personally, the writer’s friend. The book contains an extensive collection of literary-critical articles written between 1985 and 2004, offering a comprehensive, cohesive and a very coherent vision of Herling-Grudziński’s writings.
