Summary/Abstract: Review of Hanna Buczyńska-Garewicz’s book Miejsca, strony, okolice. Przyczynek do fenomenologii przestrzeni [‘Venues, neighbourhoods, vicinities: a contribution to phenomenology of space’], Universitas, Cracow, 2006. The reviewer points out to the book author’s critical attitude toward naturalist currents in phenomenology of space, highlighting the hermeneutic inspirations underlying the way she characterises the experience of space. At the same time, she calls for problematising certain basic categories that should be devised for describing the experience (closeness, intimacy, residence).
