Revision of Library Material

Summary/Abstract: Revision is a systematic examination of library stock done for the purpose of determining its de facto situation. Revision can be general and partial, and is conducted in specific periods of time depending on the fond size. There are four phases of a revision: preparation for revision, direct inspection of library stock and comparison with arranged lists and library material; compilation of documentation and analysis of collected data. Revision of library material is an important factor in organization and protection of library stock, since it enables writing off old and damaged material and ensuring space for new and actual library material.
