Summary/Abstract: In this study, the authors want to explore the impact of the economic crisis of the dominant sector in the economic potential of the city. The stability index was created, to show the stability of the city's position in terms of global economic hierarchy of cities in terms of their sustainability sectoral development. The index structure was that centers that have a narrow sectoral specialization, despite their often high economic position, are more sensitive to changes in the global economy than the cities in which strategic business units represent different industry sectors. Almost half of the city's most developed sectors were financials and materials. Asia is the most diversed continent, where there is no clear main sector dominance, but this was found in Europe and North America. It was also shown that a high level of international conectivities generally has a negative impact on the resilience of the city to the economic crisis.
