Summary/Abstract: The interaction between Russian scientific and technical intelligentsia and the Soviet power in the 1920—30-s is considered. The author analyzes the evolution of outstanding scientific and technical intelligentsia (M. A. Bonch-Bruevich, V. P. Goryachkin, A. N. Tupolev, V. G. Shukhov, V. E. Grum-Grzhimaylo, P. I. Pal¬chin¬ski) views on the revolutionary process and their possibilities to cooperate with the new authorities The article stresses the general principles which defined the scientific and technical intel-ligentsia attitude to the new authorities, and the factors which caused the po-larization of opinions on possibility of science development in the limits de-termined by the Soviet power.
