Nouveaux repères chronologiques concernant l’habitation chalcolithique chalcolithique du tell de Poduri-Dealul Ghindaru (dép. de Bacău – Roumanie)

Summary/Abstract: The present study introduces in the scientific literature some chronological informations concerning the Chalcolithic occupation from the tell Poduri-Dealul Ghindaru (Bacău county – Romania). The archaeological researches revealed here the existence of the most consistent anthropical habitation of the Precucuteni-Cucuteni cultural complex. Over time, several chronological references were made – in terms of relative chronology and absolute chronology – concerning this archaeological site, certainly influenced by the stage of researches. The recent investigations, in conjunction with the previous studies, allowed obtaining new informations about the number of the archaeological levels and their cultural-chronological affiliation, and the collection of new samples from secure stratigraphic contexts, for their dating using the radiocarbon method (14C). Two of them, analyzed at the dating laboratory in Gröningen (Holland), are published here for the first time. Both dates were then calibrated using the program OxCal 3.10. One of them completes the series resulted from the Cucuteni A2 phase and the other represents the first absolute chronologic information concerning the Cucuteni B1 phase in tell. The absolute chronology information concerning the Precucuteni II phase remains unique yet. Based on these data, we tried to reveal the period of the Chalcolithic occupation of the tell and the duration of each level, which represents a settlement itself. We also emphasize some synchronisms with other settlements belonging to this civilization.
