Innovative potential of Polish regions – taxonomic analysis

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is the evaluation of the spatial diversity of the innovative potential of Polish regions and the changes that have occurred in this area in the years 1999-2011. The results of the analysis can be summarized as follows. Regional differences in the level of innovative potential of Polish regions, although reduced, are still high. This is due to parallel processes: convergence and divergence inside voivodships, including the nature of marginalization. The undisputed leader in the level of innovative potential was the Mazovian Voivodeship. The lowest level of the innovative potential was characterized by Opole, Lubusz and Świętokrzyskie voivodships.
