Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses the teaching process monitoring focused on gaining perspective on the realization of goals, objectives and outcomes, measuring the effects of the process, as well as the overall achievements of teaching. In other words, evaluation of the general work and functioning of the institutions of higher education based on the established industry standards. The paper describes formative and summative evaluation, specifically focusing on internal evaluation, in which the evaluators are the participants in the process as well. Monitoring and evaluation of the classroom process is particularly highlighted, as well as monitoring and evaluation (grading) of the achievements and learning outcomes of students. Emphasis is also placed on the most common evaluation pitfalls as well as the necessity for establishment and adoption of the evaluation criteria that will be applicable to all participants of the classroom process – teachers and students. This means that the paper gives equal emphasis to evaluation by both teachers and students. The paper also emphasized the need of synchronization of the monitoring methodology, measurements, evaluation and establishment of unique (or at least similar) methodology of evaluation of students’ knowledge and achievements
