The Bologna Process - Is the Student in Focus?

Summary/Abstract: This paper will describe the position of students in the Bologna process – whether or not the students know their rights and obligations, especially at the Faculty of Forestry. The current situation at undergraduate and postgraduate studies will also be presented, together with the opinions of students and professors. Is the present concept of studying equivalent to the European standards? How much knowledge do we acquire? The first part of the paper will comment the Bologna Declaration and will compare the status of our students. The second part of the paper will focus on data and experience of Faculty of Forestry’s Vice Dean for Teaching Process regarding the Bologna Process implementation, as well as the experience of undergraduate and postgraduate students. How far are we from higher education’s homogenization with the European countries?
