The Justification of the Idea of Social Solidarity in Leopold Caro’s Concept

Summary/Abstract: The article seeks theoretical substantiation of the idea of solidarism in Leopold Caro’s studies in the interwar period. The main part of the analysis, which looks at Caro’s scientific achievements, is devoted to problems of research methods, ethical and normative assumptions and Catholic Social Teaching. These assumptions constitute the basis for the economist’s arrangement of legal and political conditions. The main thesis of this paper is that the value of Caro’s achievement is in his interdisciplinary approach to the legal and political order of that period. This approach is based on the investigation of relations between ethical, sociological and economic factors.
