Disability as a reason of exclusion from the labour market

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the reasons for excluding people with disabilities from the labour market. Among the barriers that hinder people with disabilities entering the labour market, one should first of all mention inefficiency of the system of general and profesional education (especially lack of access to education and vocational training or the funds allocated for this purpose). Functioning stereotypes contribute to that and the way employers perceive disability and persons with disabilities themselves. There are various mechanisms that can be used to eliminate the barriers of entering the labour market by the disabled. Among them one should mention legal, emergency and systematic instruments. Their effect is different - it depends on many factors.
