Summary/Abstract: Having own space is firmly rooted in the needs of man. Personal city analyzed here is a metaphor designed to reflect the way of perceiving and experiencing urban space and other community dwellers, consisting on compressing the entire urban realm to a much smaller structure composing of images, associations or experiences commensurate with the scale of perception of individuals, which is micro or personal. Micropolis may be something unique in the sense: incomparable and personal. This is part of the city con- sidered as “possessed” and some of its people – family, friends, colleagues, aquaitants, and neighbors – are also treated as “ours”. In other words, it’s as if someone’s own city within a city, kind of pars pro toto (part instead the total), and also parabola expressing a real relationship with the urban environment. “My city”, “my street”, “my colleagues” – these whole subjects are covered by the legal or symbolic, significant act of acquiring due to childhood spent here, long lasting residence, long-standing work, permanent being or daily contacts.
