Financial behaviour of children – financial or psychological problem? Methodological dilemma

Summary/Abstract: This study is an attempt to resolve the dilemma whether the financial behaviours of children should be studied within the finance or rather psychology. In what extent studies have already been done and what conclusions have they provided? The paper presents a methodological separateness of psychological and financial research and describes what information they provide. The main conclusion of the paper is that, although the study of the financial behaviors of children are carried out in another way by psychologists and financialists, this does not mean that they are substitute, but rather complementary. The article is conceptual and is a contribution to the discussion about the classification of behavioural sciences.
