Assessment of investment dynamics on the city’s impact area on the example of building permits in gmina Długołęka and conditions of building development

Summary/Abstract: Recent criticism of the spatial policy pursued by the municipality; is focused on the problems associated with the excessive programming of new construction areas; in particular residential ones. These activities are seen as extremely dangerous for the spatial order but they can also make enormous socio-economic losses. This paper is an attempt to assess the phenomenon which takes place on the basis of the actual investment activity observed in the municipality of Długołęka; which is also a subject of a strong influence of the processes of suburbanisation of Wroclaw. The paper presents the results of analyses of construction permits issued in the municipality in 2009-2014. This analysis included a pace of municipalities investment and a quantitative statement relating to both the location and type of investment. The results of this analysis confirm an assumptions about the separation of planning decisions from the real needs and investment opportunities.
