Summary/Abstract: From a methodological perspective, our paper contributes to pattern extensions of previous theoretical research inspecting the link among green progress of China’s industrial energy-intensive sectors, the impact of the alteration of economic structure on the emissions and energy utilization in China, and the environmental expenses of the swift economic growth of China. This study builds on a substantial literature of empirical investigations that have confirmed a powerful connection between the macroeconomic and environmental framework of the Chinese economy and China’s endeavors towards energy-related CO2 emissions reduction. We prove that the current magnitude of China’s growth pattern is environmentally unsustainable through the economy’s dependency on coal-fired capacity and heavy-industrial output.
