Summary/Abstract: Our study aims to be an analysis of the evolution of relations between the Security and counterparts from other socialist States Member of the Warsaw Pact. Based on the information provided by the Securitate’s archive documents, but also those from similar archives, available on-line or in volumes of documents, we track these relationships since the 50's through to the collapse of communism in Europe in 1989. The analysis conducted led us to the conclusion that these relations were quite sinuous, ranging from diversified forms of cooperation, in the first two decades of the interval, moving through a “cooling” institutional relations, to enter in the 80’s, a phase marked by a barely disguised hostility.
