Summary/Abstract: Romantic partners tend to use tender words, which have a special meaning for them. This fact is well-known to the researchers, however, the influence of the sex and the country of origin on the use of tender words in close relationships has not been studied so far. Comparison between groups of 66 Poles and 32 German men and women has been performed. Our goal was to analyze the attitude of the participants towards the use of tender words in close relationship. Our results revealed many differences between the groups, which leads to a supposition that there are differences in the role of tender words in close relationships among different cultures.
