Summary/Abstract: The paper presents changes in the economic and social cohesion in Central and Eastern European countries in the period 2004-2014, and determines interdependence between these changes on the economic growth. To achieve this goal descriptive statistics and correlation analysis were employed. The result shows that in the period under analysis, the economic and social cohesion increased on the national level. This process was supported by the economic growth, especially its more social aspect such as decreasing economic differences among countries as well as falling risk of poverty or social exclusion. However, cohesion decreased on the regional level measured as a dispersion index of regional GDP per capita and regional employment rate. Relation between the economic growth and the economic and social cohesion on the regional level was therefore negative.
