Verbs motivation in dialects

Summary/Abstract: The article thematically places itself in a circle of issues related to motivation of derivates in a dialectword-formation. The subject of multiple motivation of nouns has been frequently discussed in relation to specific nominal categories. Whereas, the purpose of this article is to present the issues connected with establishing motivation direction for dialect verbal formations. The starting point is to show discrepancies in defining the essence of motivation itself as well as to present types of motivations in linguistics literature. The subsequent part of the article discusses dilemmas related to specifying the type and direction of motivation based on the example of specific verbs originating from the southern Mazovia dialects.
