Summary/Abstract: Using some classical definitions as its basis, the article represents an attempt at expanding the idea of such concepts as innovation, innovation process and stages of innovation processes. A theoretical (communication) model of the innovation process has been presented as a continuous cycle. In this model every innovative solution is treated as a problematic situation that could have arisen due to both external and purely internal for the organization factors. The actions that should be taken in order to achieve a positive result in the innovation implementation have been described in a relatively detailed way. Some problems related to risk analysis at each stage of the innovation process and the possibilities of innovation assessment have also been discussed.
