Summary/Abstract: The text concerns the issue of children’s perception of God. I link it to the semiotic analysis and Charles Sanders Peirce’s triadic concept of sign. Making use of the theories as well as the interviews concerning the perception of the character of God I demonstrate that the child interprets the world through contact with symbolic reality and through giving reality some meaning. Giving meaning applies to listening to the message as well as to analysing the conditions under which it occurred in a specific situation and finally to interpreting received content. The analysis of the interviews was done on the basis of semiotic analysis.
