Selected dimensions of social cohesion in the assessment of students

Summary/Abstract: The study is an analysis of the results of surveys conducted among students of two Polish universities − the University of Szczecin and the Hugo Kołłątaj University of Agriculture in Krakow. The research concerned the social capital of surveyed students. The main aim of this article is to analyze the results of these surveys relating to the assessment made by the students of selected aspects of social cohesion, that is: confidence, solidarity, responsibility and charity. The results of the study suggest a low level of trust which respondents bestow other people and institutions, which can be a major obstacle to the realization of the idea of social cohesion.
