Summary/Abstract: L’oeuvre déconcertante procède du silence. The disconcerting work proceeds from silence. It takes its power, rather than its mute origin, from it. The artist takes back snippets and scarcely audible or visible traces – beyond common language – from the world, and works them into his or her oeuvre. Without this silence, the work cannot communicate the mystery which emerges when humans observe the world.
