Summary/Abstract: The study presents the findings of a major research on green lobbying in the European Union. First, it aims at clarifying the concepts which can help interpreting the notion of green lobbying. Our conclusion is that environmental groups use all kinds of different means in order to influence policy makers, and the public and those means should not be decoupled from the very lobbying activities of the greens in Brussels or other fora of the EU . Second, the research aimed at analyzing the interactions between green groups and the EU . Our thesis is that the EU has indeed changed under the influence of the greens and civil movements in general. It has become more open and introduced new means of governance. Finally, we looked at the opportunities of Hungarian NGO s to be part of the EU lobby scene.
