Summary/Abstract: This article considers the scholarly work of Michael A. Peters. The author reflects on what he has learned about Michael over more than 30 years. He argues that Michael’s academic life is characterized by seemingly boundless intellectual energy, eclecticism in the range of themes and theorists addressed, and extraordinary productivity in writing and publishing. Michael is seen as someone who can more than meet the demands of a performance-driven world, while simultaneously raising important critical questions about the neoliberal ideas underpinning contemporary policy and practice.
