Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to characterize the genocidal practices used by the structures of the Indonesian state towards the inhabitants of West Papua. In the first part the author presents a historical overview of decolonization of Indonesia and the birth of the Papuan national liberation movement. The main axis for the construction of the paper is Article II of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide listing genocide acts, which are the subjects of subsequent subchapters analyzing the genocide issue in West Papua. The final part of the article refers to the concept of colonial genocide and briefly describes the Free West Papua Campaign.
