Summary/Abstract: In the author’s view, the existing provisions of the Standing Orders of the Sejm do not contain loopholes that might reduce the effectiveness of actions taken by the Sejm in the exercise of the oversight of the Public Prosecutor General. There is no need to amend the Standing Orders of the Sejm to “align” this act to the provisions of the Law on the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The scope of oversight exercised by the Sejm over the Public Prosecutor General in the current constitutional framework system is based on the assumption Public Prosecutor General may use all oversight instruments which serve the exercise of control over the activities of the organizational system subordinate to the Council of Ministers. The author proposes to consider the simplification of the rules allowing the committee meeting to be held in camera when its subject concerns information subject to legal protection.
