Summary/Abstract: Disabled children’s parents constitute a unique group of parents. Their lives are, to a various degree, subjected to their child’s disability. Those circumstances, being most often too overwhelming for many parents, place them in the need of help and support from other people or institutions. Hence, the schools, which educate disabled children, face new challenges concerning help and support for such parents. Undoubtedly, the school unit (Zespół Szkół Specjalnych nr 1 w Zielonej Górze), meets the challenge and can be an example for many other schools.
