Poetic strategies for the deconstruction of the dictates of motherhood

Summary/Abstract: Recent Polish women’s poetry has become part of a broader ideological discussion on the discourses of femininity. The purpose of this article is to analyze selected strategies for deconstructing the symbolic capital of motherhood (counter-representations of the female body, breaking with the disciplining order of aesthetisation and the modes of the biological economy, and a critique of the work of caregivers as an excess of the capitalist system), as well as to attempt to reconstruct a positive programme for building alternative ties outside the institution of the family, understood as a genetic formation.
