Renaissance of an Undefended Doctoral Thesis

Summary/Abstract: The review examines the publication of the undefended dissertation "Untersuchung un Beschreibung der Danziger Burgerhauser mit besonderer Darstellung der Bauten aus der Zeit der Gotik bis zur Spatrenaissance" by Otto Rollenhagen (Marburg, 2008). The work dealing with Gdansk arhitecture of dwelling houses from Gothic to late Renaissance had been submitted to Danzig Technical High School, corrected and returned to author from 1910 to 1914. The review evaluates the work's significance from the present viewpoint.
