Summary/Abstract: The article aims at analyzing the phenomenon of utopian states from the perspective of a concept and definition, as well as a shape of a contemporary state. Presently, the hitherto model of a national state described in the literature of XIX and XX century classics, who used not upto- date enough notion system, is starting to loose its cognitive significance. At the same time, reversion to the idea of fictional organisms in the form of utopian states, which have been created as a result of there authors’ fantasy and exist exceptionally in the literature, still remains vivid. Therefore, besides the states functioning in reality, which possess their essential characteristic features determining their entity, one can perceive the existence of utopian “states”. Utopias have ‘always’ been known in the history of philosophical thought and literature. It is necessary to remark, that such creations do not meet the requirements of a state definition, although some of them possess their own symbols, constitutions, and even money, stamps and hymns.
