Summary/Abstract: The European Union persistently and consistently keeps encouraging the Energy Community enlargement. It could be stated that the Energy Community membership is in fact a kind of an ‘EU energy enlargement’. As the very form of energy sectoral integration of the countries outside the EU is a clear indicator of the significance energy has for the EU, showing in the best manners in which, through the external energy policy, the EU enhances its own energy security. Consolidation of the existing forms of cooperation within the Community, and particularly the beginning of negotiations on the membership of Ukraine, Moldova and Turkey, is a good moment to draw attention to this organization and its certainly greater significance in the future.
