Summary/Abstract: The transition to a self-sufficient lifestyle is not always smooth and easy for adolescents and youths with visual impairments. The article deals with the role of the family as well as the possibilities of vocational support in the development of social competences of adolescents and youths to improve the quality of the transition to a self-sufficient lifestyle.
