The Case of Daniel B.

Summary/Abstract: A review of The Confessor, directed by Natalia Korczakowska (Studio Theater in Warsaw, premiere: 11.02.2016). Dawid Dudko describes the episodic narrative in which motifs from Henry Bean's film The Fanatic blend with sung fragments of Passion Play dialogue. Dudko takes a critical view of the incoherently constructed script, which fails to develop through its accumulation of situations, and correspondingly, does not problematize the phenomenon of the phantasm, while superficially dealing with the characters, making them less than credible.
