Summary/Abstract: This article presents the problem of the connections between the noble family of Olesnicki, coat of arms Radwan, and the famous Zamoyskis in the 16th and 17th century. The Olesnickis, coat of arms Radwan, not mentioned until then in genealogical literature, entered into closer contacts with the Zamoyskis in the second half of the 16th century. The relationships between the two families were based on the vicinity of their land and political cooperation, most of all, however, on family bounds which were the result of Lukasz Olesnicki’s marriage with chancellor Jan Zamoyski’s daughter. In the 17th century the successive members of the Olesnicki family stayed under the auspices of the Zamoyskis, who would facilitate their court careers and political activity. The article is supplemented with a map of Olesnickis’ manor on the border of the Belz Land and the Chelm Land as well as a genealogical table of this family.
