Summary/Abstract: The article seeks to prove that Survila, a brother of Butautas Kęstutaitis, mentioned in the Chronicle of Wigand von Marburg was actually a son of Kęstutis, despite the prevailing opposite opinion in historiography. The article also reviews the biographies of Survila and his descendants in the second half of the 14th–early 15th century in the light of the recent historiography.
