Summary/Abstract: The paper, oscillating at the intersection of dialectology and sociolinguistics, contains a brief description of the linguistic situation in the multiethnic environment of the Czech part of the Těšín region, transcription samples of authentic oral texts and mainly reflects what the specific local spoken language code is or, on the contrary, what is not. The presented language material comes from the research of the speech of children and youth (aged from 6 to 18 years), which was conducted in 2013. All respondents attend schools using Polish as the language of instruction and in their speech practice they commonly switch from traditional dialect to standard Polish or Czech.
